Norwake at AWS Summit Bangkok
Our founder Luca De Salvia flew to Bangkok for the AWS Summit, one of the largest cloud and AI events in Asia. A day of talks, live demos and conversations with AWS experts, and one clear impression: much of what we discuss with our clients is already everyday practice there.
Artificial intelligence was at the center of everything: generative models integrated into everyday products, agents automating entire workflows, architectures built to run AI at massive scale. In many cases these were not prototypes but systems already in use with real customers.
One demo stuck with us more than any other: a customer support agent built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and connected to LINE, the messaging app that much of Asia uses every day. A customer sends a photo of a defective product in the chat; the agent inspects the image, verifies the defect, processes the refund and records the feedback, all within the same conversation and within clear boundaries that define exactly what it can and cannot do.
The interesting part is not the individual services, it is the pattern: a messaging channel people use daily, an AI agent in the middle, and a set of well-defined tools it can call to get the job done. The same pattern works on any messaging app: on WhatsApp for an Italian business exactly as it works on LINE in Bangkok, whether the job is answering customers, checking documents or handling orders and returns.
Talking directly with AWS experts about these architectures confirmed the underlying trend: in markets like Asia, many companies are skipping the legacy phase entirely. Without decades of systems to carry along, they start directly from AI and cloud-native. Seeing that speed of execution up close resets your idea of what scalability means.
